The Maraar family detests the Delhi background of Janu and encourage Suresh to be aloof or uncaring to her feelings. Refresh and try again. Has anyone read the translation of this book “Janmanthara Vagdanangal” by Priya A. Ancient Promises – Jaishree Misra. Hope you and your Riya are fine there. You feel all of the characters, even the peripheral ones. Books are not only written to educate, they are written for leisure and even for the metamorphosis of the soul.

The book ‘feels’ very current – and I was incredibly surprised when the author mentioned the end of Margaret Thatcher’s ‘reign’ late on in the book. But your writing was greater. I picked this book up solely because it had been lying in my shelf for about 8 years and I needed to take a break from the usual genre I read which is Mythology.

Sep 16, Deviprasad rated it really liked it. Good narration, and was similar to Arundhati Roy kinda writing, but less deeper. Penguin India 14 October Language: The story is too real to our life and Janu is human, approachable and her problems are real and vivid that is so hard to solve.

The Western lifestyle for freedom gets rooted in her mind during her school days. That’s what kept me going, to see how she gets her happy ending.

It is because of these unique views that the novel upholds, that I recommend you the book. It also has a lazy miwra where the above mentioned young girl, who by then has become a mother of an autistic?
